Variations of Interventional Pain Management Procedures/Injuries
Let us manage your pain with non-invasive pain management procedures. Our interventional pain management team provides personalized care for all patients based on their injury and occupational and recreational needs. We treat injuries from auto accidents, work accidents, slip & falls, sport activities, and more. If you are experiencing acute or chronic pain, you’ll find relief at one of our centers with a licensed provider.
Procedures/Injuries
A selective dorsal rhizotomy, also known as a rhizotomy, dorsal rhizotomy, or a selective posterior rhizotomy, is a neurosurgical procedure that selectively destroys problematic nerve roots in the spinal cord.
A medial branch block (a nerve block) is a procedure in which an anesthetic is injected near medial nerves connected to a facet joint.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein derived from whole blood, centrifuged to remove red blood cells.
Epidural steroid injection (ESI) is a technique in which corticosteroids and a local anesthetic are injected into the epidural space around the spinal cord in an effort to improve spinal stenosis, spinal disc herniation, or both. It is of benefit with a rare rate of major side effects.
Facet joint injections are used to alleviate symptoms of Facet syndrome. The procedure is an outpatient surgery, so that the patient can go home on the same day. It usually takes 10–20 minutes, but may take up to 30 minutes if the patient needs an IV for relaxation.
Intra-Articular Injection is a procedure used in the treatment of inflammatory joint conditions. A hypodermic needle is injected into the affected joint where it delivers a dose of any one of many anti-inflammatory agents, the most common of which are corticosteroids. Hyaluronic acid, because of its high viscosity, is sometimes used to replace bursa fluids. The technique may be used to also withdraw excess fluid from the joint.
A sacroiliac joint injection is typically performed to decrease persistent back pain that developed due to an injured or inflamed sacroiliac joint.
Trigger Point Injections are used to treat painful areas of muscle that contain knots of muscle, referred to as trigger points, that form when muscles do not relax.
